the latest in dinner conversation

Every once in a while we play a game at the dinner table. I know, most parents would frown upon this but I think it's a good game to play because the children work on their animal knowledge. This is how it goes - if it's your turn, you say where your animal lives ... the ocean; the woods; the farm. And then it's your dinner companions' jobs to figure out which animal it is. It's fun. And it's always interesting to hear what kind of animals the kids think of. They're so damn funny.

While on vacation this week, dinner was a little later than usual and dinner at the table was a little longer than usual. We didn't have anywhere we really needed to be. So we were lingering. And it turned out we were lingering maybe a little too long. Davis seemed to be losing interest. And this frustrated Andrew. And we found this out because this is the conversation that was had:

Scene:
Davis and Andrew talking over each other and Davis wasn't giving Andrew his turn - or so Andrew felt.
Andrew: "Ugh! Davis is all up in my business!"
Davis: "What. Ever. What. Ever. I'm not even going to listen to him anymore."

Pure classic. This is why we go on vacation ...
