picking the creek?

With early voting in Maryland, I was able to get the day's business out of the way, well, early. This meant I had an entire day with my boys. Whatever shall we get ourselves into? Two years ago we went to the Catoctin Mountains and Cunningham Falls to check out the fall colors and the pumpkin patch nearby. Since we're past that time of year already, we decided to stay a little more local. And I'm glad we did.

I grew up on Maryland's Eastern Shore. I had friends who lived in the Tunis Mills/Longwoods area, and I never knew about Pickering Creek. How is this possible? It's beautiful. And a photographer's dream! I used to worry that the boys grew tired of my camera in their faces. Now I know it's not true. Now I know they love it. They feed on it. They thrive on it. They are - awesome. Anyway, here are some of the photos I took yesterday. We had so. much. fun.
